Detailed Itinerary:

DAY 1: Arrival Chennai

Welcome by India World Travel representative at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at hotel
DAY 02: Chennai - Mahabalipuram ( 4 H/ 75 kms)

After breakfast a drive to Mahabalipuram. Mahabalipuram is the 7th century port town of south India. The town is famous for its rock-cut and monolithic temple architecures. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the famous Arjuna's Penance, the Shore Temple and the Pancha Rathas (Five Chariots) - five monolithic pyramidal structures named after the legendary Pandavas. DAY 03: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry (3.5 H / 134 km)
After breakfast drive to Pondicherry. Pondicherry is a former French colony and now a Union Territory of India that carries a strong whiff of the French presence in India. Legends say that Pondicherry is the place where St.Agasthaya settled down. Overnight at the Hotel (Vehicle at your disposal)
DAY 04: Pondicherry
After breakfast enjoy the sightseeing tour of Pondicherry. Pondicherry trip also includes a visit to the famous Aurobindo Ashram located 10 km north of Pondicherry. DAY 05 : Mahabalipuram - Trichy

After breakfast a drive to Trichy, short name of Trichurapalli, situated on the banks of Kaveri river, is a blend of history and tradition as well as pilgrim centre. It is famous for Ranganath temple at Srirangam. Later a city tour visiting Rock fort and its temple at a height of over 23mts and also a visit to Srirangam, Jambukeshwar Temple. DAY 6: Trichy - Tanjore - Madurai (3 H/142km)

After breakfast a drive to Thanjavur (Tanjore) enroute visiting the Brass factory at Kumbakonam. Tanjore once the capital of Chola Kings, has the Brahadeswara temple(or the big temple of God). The temple tower rises to a height of 15mts from a square base of 29mts and then tapers off, making a total of 66mts. Continue drive to Madurai. The ancient city of Madurai, some 2500 years old is laid out on the banks of river Vaigai as a lotus flower with the Meenakshi temple in the centre. Overnight at the Hotel (Vehicle at your disposal)

Day 07: Madurai

Madurai is over 2500 years old and is the second largest city of Tamil Nadu. Madurai has a rich cultural heritage passed on from the great Tamil era . Madurai trip includes a visit to the famous Meenakshi temple. The 1000-pillared hall depicts beautiful sculptures showcasing stories from ancient Hindu Epics. You could also visit other places of interest such as the Palace of King Thirumalai Nayak, built in 1636 in an indo-saracenic style. Overnight at the Hotel. (Vehicle for disposal)

Day 08: Madurai - Periyar (3H / 160 Km)

After breakfast a drive to Periyar tiger Reserve. Periyar is an example of nature’s bounty, with great scenic charm, rich bio diversity and providing veritable visitor satisfaction. Sprawled over an area of 777 Sq.km, Periyar is one of the 27 tiger reserves in India. Overnight at the Hotel (Vehicle at your disposal)

DAY 09: Periyar

After breakfast, a visit to Periyar wildlife sanctuary where you get an opportunity to sight various wild animals like elephants, sambar, gaur, macaques, Nilgiri langur, leopards and tigers. DAY 10 : Periyar - Munnar (3 H / 160 Km)

After breakfast a drive to Munnar. Munnar hills is situated at an altitude of 5000 to 8000 Ft above sea level and is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathani & Kundala.  This beautiful hill station was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Sprawling Tea plantations, picture book towns, winding lanes, and holiday facilities make this a popular resort town . Check into your hotel and unwind. Munnar trip includes a visit to the tea museum, a short trip to the Eravikulam National Park or simply a walk through the tea estates. Overnight at the Hotel (Vehicle at your disposal)

DAY 11: Munnar - Kumarakom (4 H / 200 Km)

After breakfast drive to Kumarakom. Kumarakom in the last decade has grown from a little known backwater village to a world renowned tourist destination. The serene atmospheres will sooth your souls and refresh your mind and body. An evening visit to the Kumarakom bird sanctuary which is the home for a number of migratory birds like Siberian stork, darter heron, etc. Also you can enjoy Ayurvedic general full-body massage. DAY 12: Kumarakom - Chittorgarh (2H1/2 / 120 Km)

DAY 13: Kumarakom - Alleppey (2 H / 65 Km)

After breakfast a drive till your private luxurious Kumarakom houseboats with well-appointed bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. You can sunbathe on the deck or observe the palm fringed landscape from your cabins. Apart from the mesmerizing surroundings it's the life along the coast that adds a touch of exotica to this experience. Night in houseboat (Vehicle for Transfer)

DAY 14: Houseboat Tour

You will discover the real Kerala life with the locals' travel in canoes and you will find vegetable sellers, fishermen and other traders bringing household goods, door to door in small wooden boats. As you cruise along the backwaters you can ask your captain to stop at villages.

DAY 15: Alleppey -Cochin (2 H / 64 Km)

After breakfast, a drive to Cochin. Visit of the historic city of Fort Cochin - ancient capital of the Dutch, Portuguese and finally the British. A walking tour of Fort Cochin. Visit will include the old Spice Market at Mattancherry; the antique shop on Jews street, The Synagogue, Dutch Palace and the Church of St. Francis where the mortal remains of Vasco Da Gama was buried before it was shifted to Portugal. DAY 16: Cochin – Departure as per Flight schedule or for onward Destination.
