Overview:
This Himachal Motorcycle tour takes you through some of the most interesting places in Delhi, the Golden Temple and Dharamshala (McLeod Ganj) the Head quarters of the Dalai Lama. Here you drive past the Kangra Tea gardens and visit the summer palace of the Dalai Lama and the Karmapa Monastery. From Dharamshala you drive to Manali, the Valley of Gods and further on enter the Trans Himalayas for an adventurous journey taking you across plains and High Mountain passes with beautiful and rigid landscapes.

Detailed Itinerary:

DAY 1: Arrival Delhi

Welcome by India World Travel representative at the airport and transfer to your hotel. Overnight at hotel
DAY 02: Delhi - Haridwar (5 H/ 200 KM)
After breakfast drive to Haridwar by motorcycle. Haridwar is the gateway to the four pilgrimages of Uttaranchal. It is also your starting point on the journey to the sacred sources of the Ganga and the Yamuna Rivers. Haridwar's scenic beauty is a blend of height and plains, the air echoes the sounds of chanting mantras. The city abounds in temples of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. Haridwar has a lot of spiritual retreats or Ashrams carrying on the lineage of providing the way to body soul perfection via various yoga and meditative techniques. Overnight at the Hotel
DAY 03: Haridwar - Rishikesh - Haridwar

After breakfast you can have a holy bath in Ganges, visit temples and other pilgrimage places and after lunch proceed towards Rishikesh. Laxman Jhula- a hanging bridge on the river Ganga is one of the most famous spot in Rishikesh. According to Indian mythology, Lakshman, the younger brother of Lord Rama crossed the Ganga with the help of hanging bridge made of Jute. The bridge offers a scenic view of the river Ganga as it tumbles down to Haridwar. Also visit Bharat Mandir - the oldest temple in Rishikesh, near the Triveni Ghat. This temple is dedicated to Bharat, the younger brother of Lord Ram. Overnight at the Hotel

DAY 04: Haridwar - Shimla (5.30 H/280 Km)

After breakfast a drive to Shimla. Shimla is the former summer capital of British India, set amidst the snow capped Shivalik Mountains which offers some of the most stunning views of the mighty Himalayas. Overnight at the Hotel

DAY 05 : Shimla

After breakfast you will visit Kufri situated at an altitude of 2500 meters, just an hour’s drive from Shimla. Later this afternoon take a walking tour of Shimla, visit the Jakoo hills that offer a panoramic view of the town. A visit to the Vice Regal Lodge and walk down the Mall Road. Overnight at the Hotel

DAY 6: Shimla - Manali (7 H / 280 KM)

After breakfast a drive to Manali by motorcycle. Manali is situated at an altitude of 1,929 metres. Set amidst pine-clad mountains, which gradually close in on both sides of the Beas and nestling in their shade, as though carved out of primeval forest, is a scattered hamlet, which comprises this picturesque summer resort. Overnight at the Hotel

Day 07: Manali

After breakfast a visit to the 450 years old temple dedicated to Hadimba Devi, which has some excellent woodcarving. You also visit the Tibetan Monastery and the handicraft center. The rest of the day at leisure or walk to the nearby picturesque village of Vashisht known for its hot sulphur springs. Overnight at the Hotel

Day 08: Manali - Dharamshala / Mcleodganj (7 H/235 KM)

After breakfast a drive to Mcleodganj by motorcycle. This is the seat of His Holiness the "Dalai Lama". McLeod Ganj being inhabited by exiled Tibetan is full of Tibetan lifestyle and culture. Overnight at the Hotel

DAY 09: Mcleodganj

After breakfast morning sightseeing including various monasteries and Mcleodganj often called Little Lhasa and the residence of the Dalai Lama, which has been here for over three decades. The monastery has larger-than-life images of the Buddha, Padmasambhava and Avalokteshwara. Also visit ST. JOHN’S, the charming dressed stone church in the wilderness.

DAY 10 : Dharamshala to Dalhousie (5 H/150 KM)

After breakfast, a drive to Dalhousie by motorcycle. Dalhousie is built on and around five hills. Located on the western edge of the Dhauladhar mountain range of the Himalayas and surrounded by the beautiful scenery of snow-capped peaks. Dalhousie is situated at 6000-9000 feet above sea level. Scottish and Victorian architecture is prevalent in the bungalows and churches in the town. Evening at leisure for walking around the Mall Road. Overnight at the Hotel

DAY 11: Dalhousie
Day free for independent activities or to see the local attractions. Overnight at the Hotel (Vehicle at your disposal)
DAY 12: Dalhousie-Amritsar-Wagah-Amritsar (5 H/191 Km)

After breakfast, a drive to Amritsar by motorcycle. Amritsar is the sacred city for the Sikhs. Check into the hotel and then proceed to Wagah Border (Indo-Pak Border) 40 Kms. Wagah is an army outpost on Indo-Pak border - between Amritsar and Lahore. Return back to Amritsar for local sightseeing tour covering The Golden Temple and Jaliyawala Bagh. Overnight at the Hotel

DAY 13: Amritsar-Chandigarh (5.30 H /284)

After breakfast, a drive to Chandigarh by motorcycle. A visit to Rock Garden, Rose Garden and market. Chandigarh has the distinction of having world acclaimed Rock Garden. It consists of art objects made from industrial and urban waste. It is the first one of its kind in the World. The largest Rose Garden in Asia, it is spread over an area of 27 acres and has more than 17,000 plants representing some 1,600 varieties of roses as well as several fountains. Overnight at the Hotel

DAY 14: Chandigarh - Delhi (5 H/ 238 Km)

After breakfast a drive to Delhi by motorcycle. Delhi is the capital of Indian republic and has the strategic position in the administration since the epic of Mahabharata. It was sacked and looted several times by foreign invaders but it stands still in all the upheavals and trembles. It is the third largest City of India. At Delhi, a visit to Jama Masjid (India’s biggest mosque), Red fort (built in red sandstone and a blend of Hindu and Islamic architecture), India Gate, Parliament house & President’s House, Qutab Minar, Bahai Temple (lotus temple), Humayun’s tomb etc. Overnight at the Hotel

DAY 15: Delhi – Departure as per Flight schedule or for onward Destination.
