After breakfast a drive to Ranthambore National Park which is bounded to the north by the Banas River and by the Chambal River in the south. It is named after the historic Ranthambore fortress, which lies within the park. The Park was established as Sawai Madhopur Game Sanctuary in the year 1955 by the Indian Government and was declared a Project Tiger reserve in the year 1973. It became a National Park in the year 1980 and later in the year 1991 the tiger reserve was enlarged to include Sawai Man Singh & Keladevi sanctuaries, with a total area of 1334 km. Before breakfast, take Jeep Safari to the Tiger Reserve. Since becoming one of the original areas under Project Tiger, the park has recovered much of its natural beauty and the dry deciduous forest has been restored. Later, visit the Ranthambore Fort, founded in the year 944 by the Chauhan Rajputs after the defeat of the Chauhan king Prithviraj III by Muhammad of Ghori in the year 1192. After breakfast a drive to Agra by 4x4 (4 WD). Enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri. Fatehpur Sikri was found after the Mughal Emperor Babur defeated Rana Sanga in a battle at Khanwa (about 40 KM from Agra). Then the Mughal Emperor Akbar wanted to make Fatehpur Sikri his headquarters and built this majestic fort. Afternoon a visit to Agra Fort and Taj Mahal. After breakfast a drive to Delhi by 4x4 (4 WD). The capital of the Indian Republic has had a strategic position in the administration since the epic of the Mahabharata.
